WikiStream is an unofficial reader for Wikipedia. This policy explains what data the service processes and why. We are committed to minimal data handling.
The only data processed is the Wikipedia article you choose to open. When you request an article, our server fetches it from the Wikipedia API on your behalf and serves it to you. This is limited to the article you requested.
To improve speed and reduce upstream load, we briefly cache article responses in memory (Redis) with a time-to-live of up to 24 hours. This cache is technical and ephemeral; it is not used to profile you and does not retain any personal identifiers.
Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) may be kept for security and operational reliability, such as preventing abuse. These logs are not used to identify or track individuals.
All article content displayed is sourced from Wikipedia and remains subject to Wikipedia's Terms of Use and applicable licenses. WikiStream is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Wikimedia Foundation.
The app loads styling and icon resources (Tailwind CSS, Font Awesome, Google Fonts) from third-party CDNs, which may process your IP address in accordance with their own privacy policies.
WikiStream does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to delete. Cached article responses expire automatically within 24 hours.
